Giáo dục đại học của Vương quốc Anh được chia làm hai cấp:

• Các chương trình Đại học: trao bằng cử nhân, bằng đại học đại cương, bằng nghề hướng nghiệp quốc gia (HND) và một số bằng cấp khác

Thời gian học: Với đa số các ngành học, thời gian học là 03 năm tại England, Wales và Bắc Ailen, 04 năm tại Scotland. Với các ngành Y, dược, luật, kiến trúc, xây dựng, thời gian học có thể kéo dài 5-7 năm

-  Đa ngành: có hàng ngàn khóa học để học sinh chọn

-  Đào tạo lý thuyết hoặc lý thuyết xen thực hành từ 3 tháng- 12 tháng, thực hành có thể được trả lương hoặc không được trả lương.

• Các chương trình Sau đại học: trao bằng Thạc sỹ, Thạc sỹ Quản trị Kinh doanh (MBA), Tiến sỹ (PhD) và một số bằng cấp khác. Thông thường bạn cần có bằng đại học để có thể đăng ký học chương trình sau đại học.

Bậc học sau đại học thường được thiết kế theo 2 dạng:

-  Học trên lớp do các giảng viên trực tiếp giảng dạy

-  Nghiên cứu – có giảng viên hướng dẫn.

-  Các khóa học thạc sỹ tại Anh thường chỉ kéo dài 1 năm. Khóa tiến sỹ kéo dài 3 năm nếu học viên đã có bằng thạc sỹ và 5 năm nếu học viên mới chỉ có bằng cử nhân

Yêu cầu đầu vào

Mỗi khoá học ở trình độ đại học của Vương quốc Anh lại có những yêu cầu đầu vào khác nhau. Những yêu cầu này được đặt ra nhằm đảm bảo bạn có đủ kỹ năng và kiến thức để theo học thành công.

Với các khoá đại học, thông thường bạn sẽ cần phải đạt được bằng sau phổ thông (ví dụ như A-levels, Bằng Tú tài Quốc tế, Bằng phổ thông Scotland...) với các ngành học liên quan.

Với các khoá sau đại học, thông thường bạn cần phải có bằng đại học ở ngành học liên quan.

Trong một vài trường hợp, kinh nghiệm làm việc cũng là yêu cầu đầu vào của khoá học.

Nếu tiếng Anh không phải ngôn ngữ mẹ đẻ của bạn, trường đại học hoặc cao đẳng có thể sẽ yêu cầu bạn làm bài kiểm tra tiếng Anh hoặc nộp bằng cấp tiếng Anh của bạn trước khi bạn đăng ký.
